During the cyclic voltammetry experiment, a triangular waveform is applied to the electrode. As the potential is swept more negatively, a wave is exhibited, during which time the analyte is reduced. The potential is reversed when the switching potential is reached. Once the potential is reversed, the wave exhibited is anodic and the analyte is oxidized.
